Glan Towyn, Anglesey

Project overview

Glan Towyn was our introductory project to C&N Properties. This was an extensive reconstruction of an existing coastal property located in Rhoscolyn, Anglesey. Part of the property was fully stripped back to the frame, underpinned, internally insulated, and fully fitted out to a high quality. The fabric upgrades included new bespoke windows and low embodied carbon mineral wool insulation. The dwelling benefits from a new fully electric heating system. In place of the previous garage, a new build extension and link was constructed, creating a large open plan kitchen on the first floor with sea views, a vaulted ceiling, and a cantilevered balcony. This was a high quality retrofit where improved energy performance was a prerequisite to delivering a cost effective electric heating strategy in what is a large property.
